Longing for Limitless Light ~ by C.R. Lama and James Low
James wrote the following introduction for these audio-recordings: ‘Longing for Lotus Light is a sequence of prayers and aspirations focused on universal enlightenment. We pray to the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas for guidance and support in our commitment to develop wisdom and compassion in order to benefit all sentient beings.
Buddha Amitabha is known in Tibetan as ‘Od-dPag-Med, which means ‘Limitless Light’. When we turn towards him with devotion we turn towards his light, towards the light of his Buddha realm known as Dewachen, The Happy, towards the light of all Buddhas, and towards the light of our aspiration to be like him. May we gain the good heart and clear mind that will make us vehicles for loving kindness available to all.’
The texts included here are open for all to access…and with repeated engagement – through reading and listening, reflection and recitation – their beneficial impact will surely be received. Having the dharma flow in through our eyes and ears and out through our mouths in a way which is more than simply ‘reading the words’… is a softening, transformative pleasure offered by the buddhas, facilitating our awakening.
