Dissolving The Enemies Of Love

06Sep2020

We are all familiar with the hopes and fears inseparable from romantic love. However the Buddhist view of love is expressed as “May all beings be happy and have the cause of happiness.” This aspiration is inclusive and infinite. It is offered equally to all without reference to the qualities we perceive in them. To achieve this warm equanimity we have to release ourselves from bias and prejudice which are mental formations distorting our experience of the potential of the field. Awakening to infinite love is awakening to infinite wisdom. Duality obscures the integrity of the ground and all that arises with it. This leads to perceiving phenomena in terms of polarities such as self/other, good/bad. Nonduality reveals the value of all phenomena and all beings to be equal as the radiance of the ground.
